You can sell cryptocurrency and receive payment using over 400 different methods. Here's how to find potential buyers by exploring existing offers on Paxful.
STEP 1: Define Your Search Criteria
1. Sign in to your Paxful account or create one if you haven’t already. Hover over the Sell button and select your desired cryptocurrency. This will bring up a list of available sell offers.
2. Click the Any Payment Methods dropdown and choose your preferred payment method from the dialog box.
3. Click on Any Currency and choose your preferred currency from the list. Enter the amount you wish to trade in the Any amount field. If you don’t have a specific amount in mind, you can leave this field blank.
4. Choose your country from the Location dropdown.
5. Click Find Offers. The list of offers will be updated based on the criteria you’ve set.
STEP 2: Finding an Offer
1. Browse the available offers.
Offers are listed starting with those from:
Buyers with the highest ratings and reputations
Highly active buyers who are ready for instant trades
The most favorable margins
Look for tags and labels that provide extra details about each offer. When you find one that suits you, click Sell to open the Offer page.
Take time to review the offer carefully, including:
Trade limits – Is the offer amount within your preferred range?
Buyer’s rate – Is the exchange rate profitable for you?
Offer terms – Does the buyer require any documents or impose specific conditions?
Paxful fee – This varies depending on your selected payment method.
2. Enter the amount you wish to trade, either in fiat currency or cryptocurrency, then click SELL NOW.
3. You’ll then be taken to the Trade Chat page to begin the transaction.
Note:
Once the trade begins, the cryptocurrency rate is locked and will not change.
The crypto is then transferred from your personal Paxful wallet into a secure escrow for the duration of the trade.
STEP 3: Completing the Trade
1. Use the trade chat to communicate with your buyer and confirm all necessary details. Be sure to follow their instructions carefully.
2. Once the buyer has sent the payment, verify that the amount received is correct. Then, click Send Bitcoin.
In the confirmation dialog that appears, click Send Bitcoin again to complete the transaction.
The cryptocurrency will be released from the trade escrow and transferred to the buyer’s Paxful wallet, marking the trade as complete. If you have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, you’ll need to enter your 2FA code to proceed.
Note:
Only the buyer has the ability to cancel the trade.
If any issues or disputes arise, click Dispute to request assistance from our moderators.
If the trade expires, you can reactivate it by clicking Reopen escrow.
TIP:
- After completing a trade, consider leaving feedback for your trading partner—it helps others make informed decisions.
To make future trades easier, click "Click to add Username to your contacts" to add the user to your Trade Partners list. This allows you to build a trusted trading network. - If you need a public receipt of the BTC transaction, click Public Receipt at the bottom of the page.
WARNING: If your country is listed on the OFAC grey list, you’ll need to complete ID verification before selling cryptocurrency.
